FDP on “Image Processing and its applications”

About FDP

The Faculty Development Program throws light on promising research areas such as Imaging, Pattern Recognition, booming trends, and its diverse applications. It starts with fundamentals and different processing technologies both in spatial and frequency domains. The rapid increase in computing power and communication speed coupled with computer storage, have led to a new age of digital image applications such as digital mammographic analysis, medical image processing, biometrics, content and annotation-based image retrieval, image mining, image security, and nanotechnology applications.

These new growing applications require high-quality data representation and storage, easy access to content, and secured reliable delivery. All the aforementioned requirements have opened up new avenues for research in signal processing, image/video processing and analysis, multimodal biometrics, relevance feedback-based content search, automatic annotation, and retrieval. The challenges and issues in the potential research areas are to be explored in view to inculcate a research attitude among the faculty members. The FDP aims at equipping teachers with skills and knowledge in order to create a better society by guiding, training, and motivating the students to take up research projects.

Selection Criteria:

Selection will be done based on first-come-first-serve to a maximum number of 60 (sixty). Additionally, 10 participants from the industry are allowed to participate. The list of selected participants will be intimated through e-mail. In case the candidate is not selected, the registration amount will be refunded. Candidates will be issued certificates on successful completion of the course. Reservations are followed for selecting candidates as per GOI norms.
