Introduction
Higher education plays a pivotal role in enrichment of human life. Hence, Sabarmati University takes placement process into its prime consideration. Here at SU, we strive to facilitate and counsel for placement related activities. We provide 100 % assistance for placement to all its registered students. The University follows the norms provided here.
Placement cell will be responsible to invite the companies on the basis of the following parameters:
- Job Profile and Growth Prospects
- The package being offered by the company
- Past record of recruitment at SU
- Feedback from the Alumni regarding the company
- Relationship between the company and SU
- Student should get minimum 60% aggregate & above senior secondary school onwards, where the student should secure a minimum 60 % score in the external examination held by SU.
- The students should have cleared the graduation and post graduation programs without any backlogs.
The university follows One Student One Job. The companies are divided in 3 categories based on their initial job offers.
Category- A: Any company offering CTC > 4 LPA
Category-B: Any company offering CTC between 1.8 LPA to 4 LPA
Category-C: Any company offering CTC up to 1.8 LPA
As soon as the student secures the job in Category-A, He/She will be out of the placement and will not be allowed to appear for any other company.
A student can appear for a company of any phase for placement on campus under the following cases:
- Students should not be placed in the company.
- Student has been placed in a company of Phase -2 and 80% of the student has been placed in his/her respective branch.
- Student has been placed in a company of Phase -3.
- In case of parallel recruitment procedure of two or more companies, if an unavoidable case of procedure arises then a student may be asked to choose between the companies and hence can only continue the procedure with the selected companies/ company. No Changes in the decision in this regard will be accepted in any case after advancement in the Selection procedure from the point.

- Student are given choice to choose the company for placement based on their specialization subject to all conditions mentioned above .
- If student given the name for the interview and if they are not attending the interview than he/she will be blacklisted and not able to attending the rest of the company.
- Once student is placed in a company of his/her choice , than he/she cannot attend any other interview directed from concern School/ Department whether off campus or on campus . But its their liberty to find another better job by his own.
- If any student who withdraws deliberately in the mid of the selection process will be disqualified from the placement process from the rest for the year.
- Unauthorized absence for the interview will lead to barring from placement.
- Student who doesn’t want to participate in the placement should write a letter to placement committee about the reason for withdrawal.
- Student should be ready to attend any screening programme by placement cell on the request of the company. Only shortlisted students list will be forwarded to the companies. Here, it is essential for the students to attend Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs) with the companies in order to understand job profile which is to be offered.
- A student who applies and get selected or short listed is bound to go through the entire selection process unless rejected mid way by the companies.
- The placement session is an ongoing process which starts from the enrollment of the student in the university, under which the students are supposed to attend all the developmental activities organized by the placement cell throughout their course of study. The final phase of placement will begin with the start of their last semester/ year of the program.
- Campus placement involves interacting with external entities/peop It represents a significant opportunity for creating goodwill and esteem for the student and the University. The participating entities view the student as an ambassador of the University. Students are therefore cautioned to display civility and good professional conduct while interacting with the external entities. If any student is found to be in violation of professional code of conduct, he/she is liable to be debarred from placement assistance.
- Dress Code:
Student must be formally dressed whenever he/she participate in any sort of interaction with a company.
- Boy’s dress code: formal white shirt and blue trousers with ties, and leather shoes.
- Girl’s dress code: It includes Indian wears or formal white shirt and blue trousers with neck tie.
- All students who are eligible and require placement assistance must fill a Placement registration form.
- Student wishing to opt out of the placement assistance can do so by signing the declaration in Appendix 1.
- It is the student’s responsibility to follow all deadlines arising out of the placement processes. For this purpose, the student must regularly check the emails, messages, or notices from the online portal and comply with the actions as required within the indicated timelines. Non-adherence to the timelines may lead to denial of the subsequent process outcomes such as interviews etc.
- Students are required to keep a track of the communications regarding the companies with Job opportunities. If a student eligible as per the Job Description chooses not to apply for three (3) consecutive eligible job postings, then it may validly imply that the student is not interested in pursuing the placement assistance process. In such cases, the student will be denied further placement assistance.
- For securing a job, a student can apply in more than five organization. If a student fails to obtain a confirmed job offer after appearing for selection interview of five (5) organizations, then he/she will automatically opt out of the placement assistance from the University.
- All job offers will be made via the Placement Office.
- The University follows a one student, one job offer policy. So, it becomes mandatory for the student to accept the first job offer. Upon receiving the first job offer, the student will be automatically considered as placed, and removed from list of students awaiting job offers.
- Students are expected to behave professionally with all employees of SU. Any misconduct, misbehavior, non-maintenance of decorum would be dealt with seriously and could lead to disqualification from all Placement related assistance from the Universit
In case of indicative early joining in their offer letters, Such cases will be reported to the placement office, HOD, and Dean.
- Presently , the University does not have an explicit policy for early joining. The University does not encourage early joining as it involves loss of academic credits which may potentially lead to incomplete coursework and withholding of the degree. However, such early joining may be permitted depending on the merits of the case. In all circumstances the student would be allowed to join early only if recommended by the respective Dean and approved by the Provost.
- If a student is allowed to join early, then he/she would have to give an undertaking whereby he/she would diligently undertake the Assignments given to him/her and report to the concerned faculty member on the mutually agreed days. Failure in submitting the assignments and meeting faculty members on the assigned day(s) may result in withholding of the degree. The student must manage the leave of absence from the company, to write their final examinations and complete other academic requirements in time.

The importance of a LinkedIn profile can hardly be undermined. We will have professionals from LinkedIn come and guide students to create and improve their LinkedIn profiles via Rock your Profile session.
Art of Networking
Connections for Better Opportunities. Jobs never fall from the sky! Every individual is supposed to work harder and make endless efforts in order to secure a high prospective job. Besides struggle and determination, networking is also important for better employment opportunities.

Assessing students on skills that are important for industry and suggesting an improvement plan will help with better placements.
