Blood Donation Camp at Raj Bhavan, Gandhinagar

On 18th January 2025, a Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized at Raj Bhavan,
Gandhinagar, to commemorate the birthday of the Hon’ble Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat.
The event was conducted under the directives of the Comptroller of Household to the
Hon’ble Governor and coordinated by the Regional Directorate of NSS, Ministry of Youth
Affairs & Sports, Government of India.

Sabarmati University actively participated in the noble cause, ensuring a significant
contribution to the blood donation initiative. Under the guidance and supervision of Dr.
Tirtha Kanti Karmakar, NSS Programme Coordinator, a team of 10 dedicated volunteers
from the university actively took part in the blood donation process. Their efforts were
instrumental in making the camp a success, showcasing the spirit of service and commitment
toward social welfare.

The medical arrangements and overall supervision of the blood donation procedures were
managed by Dr. Shashank Simpi, Medical Officer to the Hon’ble Governor and Liaison
Officer for the Blood Donation Camp. All necessary precautions were taken to ensure a safe
and hygienic environment for the donors.
This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and
encourage youth participation in humanitarian activities. The participation of NSS volunteers
from Sabarmati University significantly contributed to the overall success of the camp,
reinforcing the values of selfless service and social responsibility.

The NSS unit of Sabarmati University extends its heartfelt gratitude to the organizers,
volunteers, and medical staff for their unwavering support in making this event impactful and
meaningful.
