Teacher’s Day appreciation for teachers

Teacher’s Day is a special day for the appreciation of teachers. The idea of celebrating Teacher’s Day took root in many countries during the 19th century. In India the birthday of the second presidentSarvepalli Radhakrishnan, 5 September, is celebrated as Teacher’s Day since 1962. Many countries celebrate their Teacher’s Day on 5 October in conjunction with World Teacher’s Day, which was established by UNESCO in 1994. Teacher’s Day was celebrated by the Students and the Faculty members of Sabarmati University on 5th September, 2022 on the theme of “Back to School” with great enthusiasm under the observance of Prof. (Dr.) Parshuram Dhaked, Dean Academics; Dr. Jyoti Srivastav, Registrar; Prof. (Dr.) K.B. Vyas and Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Gupta, HOD of Social Sciences.

The programme started with Saraswati Vandana and lamp lightning. Dean Academics started the proceedings in which he talked about the importance of teachers in a student’s life. The next speaker was Dr. Jyoti Srivastava who gave wishes to all the faculty members followed by the speech of Prof. (Dr.) Nakul Then a series of events started including – (1) Poetry and Shayri: In the first event, the participants were Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Gupta; Prof. (Dr.) Rachna Mishra, CEO and HOD of Education; Prof. (Dr.) Sahil Srivastav; Prof. (Dr.) Jyotsana; Prof. (Dr.) Reena Ma’am. In the second event, School Ke Kisse, the participants were Prof. (Dr.) Anshul Rajawat; Prof. (Dr.) Mukta Agarwal; Prof. Ravi Vyas; Prof. Ekta Mehta. In the singing event, Prof. (Dr.) Vijayalakshmi Pandey; Prof. Tirtha Karmakar; Prof. (Dr.) Pratima Rai sang some songs. Then Prof. Ishita Rawat and Prof. Ekta Mehta from Commerce Department also gave solo dance performances. In the last event of games, people had to identify international brands and everyone enjoyed playing it. In the end, Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Gupta and Prof. (Dr.) Rachna Mishra offered flowers to all the participants. The whole event was hosted by Prof. Aniket Parmar.
