Independence Day Celebration 15th August 2024

Sabarmati University, Ahmedabad, celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and national pride on the 15th of August, 2024. The event commenced at 9:30 am with a well-coordinated and vibrant schedule organized by the university’s Event Committee.

Event Overview:

1. Anchoring & Welcoming the Guests:

The ceremony began with Dr. Priyanka Bhatt and Dr. Bharti Tiwari anchoring the event. They extended a warm welcome to all the guests, faculty members, students, and dignitaries present on this auspicious occasion.

2. Unfurling of the National Flag:

The dignitaries unfurled the National Flag, signifying the pride and sovereignty of India. The moment was marked with a sense of patriotism and unity among the audience.

3. National Anthem:

Following the flag hoisting, everyone stood in reverence as the National Anthem was sung, instilling a deep sense of nationalism.

4. Independence Day Address:

Dr. K.B. Vyas, the Provost of Sabarmati University, delivered a stirring Independence Day address. His speech highlighted the significance of freedom, the sacrifices made by our ancestors, and the role of youth in shaping the future of India. He also emphasized the importance of education in the development of the nation.

5. Human Pyramid Performance:

A captivating human pyramid performance was presented by a team of students including Fena, Tanzila, Meenaxi, Payal, Tejal, Ritu, Jayesh, Prerit, Anshul, Puneet, Daksh, Prashant, Yash, Parshwa, Ritik, Mehul, Harsh, Kaushal, and Manvendra Singh. The performance symbolized strength, unity, and team spirit, and was one of the highlights of the celebration.

6. Cultural Performances:

A series of cultural performances followed, showcasing the immense talent of the students of Sabarmati University:

– Solo Dance: Thakar Shruti, a student from BSW, presented a mesmerizing solo dance performance that reflected the rich cultural heritage of India.

– Speech: Shikha Sharma from B.Ed. delivered a motivational speech, sharing her thoughts on the significance of Independence Day and the responsibilities of the youth towards the nation.

– Speech: Ketur Sanghavi from B.Ed. delivered a thought-provoking speech, emphasizing the role of education in fostering freedom and progress.

– Solo Singing: Mayur Prajapati from MBA performed a solo song that was filled with emotions of love for the country, adding to the spirit of the occasion.

– Speech: Vala Hitesh from MBA and Mahek Modhvadiya concluded the series of speeches with their inspiring words, urging everyone to remain committed to the ideals of independence and democracy.

– Group Act: an act related to freedom fighters of India was also performed by various students across different departments.

7. Group Song:

A group song performance by Raj Rabari, Nazneen, and Anindita from the BA program added a melodious touch to the event, bringing together the voices of students in harmony.

8. Vote of Thanks:

Dr. Bharti Tiwari expressed her gratitude to all the dignitaries, students, and staff members for their participation and contribution to the successful execution of the event. She extended special thanks to the Event Committee for their meticulous planning and coordination.

9. Group Photograph:

The event concluded with a group photograph, capturing the joyous and memorable moments of the Independence Day celebrations.
